Lani Hotch, Master Weaver & Mayor's sister reads the symbolism of her latest Tlingit blanket (raven's tail weave), as she describes the view of the Chilkat River from the window behind her and narrates its mythology. Austin Hammond said of the Tlingit that "We wear our history." Contextually and stylistically, she weaves the present into the history that she and her descendants will wear. Posted by Picasa
